In 1972, I began my quilt career teaching
beginning quilt classes at a local library. A year later, Cindy
Taylor Clark and I started the first quilt shop in the Midwest.
"The Quilting Bee" served the needs of quilters in
the greater Kansas City area for 13 years. In 1975, I designed
a line of patterns that led the quilt industry in pattern innovation.
In 1979, I merged my store with my competition on the Country
Club Plaza, and changed the name to "Quilt Country".
I wholesaled 63 patterns to quilt shops throughout the United
States, Canada, and Europe.
After leaving the store in 1983, Peace
Creek Patterns became the new name for my patterns, in remembrance
of my grandparents farm in Peace Creek, Kansas. I only sold them
occasionally through my lectures and workshops. A new generation
of quilters will now have the opportunity to experience these
unique, original quilt designs. After 17 years, I am reintroducing
15 of my original quilt patterns, calling them the "Original
30th Anniversary" of Peace Creek Patterns. I will continue
to release more of these patterns so keep coming back. |

As an exotic fruit in colonial
times, the pineapple was truly a show of hospitality. This pattern
features four traditional appliqued pineapple designs bordered
by a traditional pieced pineapple design.

Blue and White Classic
Designed in the cut-work and

Le Canard
Inspired by the decoy collection
of my good friend Lucy Kennard Bell, "The Duck Quilt"
depicts the fall migration of ducks and geese as they feed in
the fields, and rest in the marshes of the central flyway of
the Quivera Wildlife Refuge in Peace Creek, Kansas.
Size: 71" x 75"

Victorian All White Quilt
This whole cloth beauty was
designed in the style of the Baltimore Friendship quilts of the
1850's. One might wish to quilt each design, or embroider the
blocks in the Red Work style. For a real challenge, try appliqueing
the blocks in red and green on white or ecru.
Size: 81" x 100"
ORG005 - $6.00

Beginning Sampler
A great quilt for beginning
quilters. The twelve, 16" blocks feature hexagons, curves,
eight point diamonds, triangles and applique. I suggest the new
quilter take beginning quilt classes at their local quilt shops,
and use this pattern to practice their skills.
Size: 80" x 100"

Flying Geese
This pattern appears in many
English and early American quilts. Use a large variety of printed
reproductions of early chintzs, calicos, paisleys and trailing
florals. Set the rows of geese with a large pillar print or chintz
floral.
Size: 80" x 111"
ORG008 - $5.00

Double Wedding Ring
A large number of Double Wedding
Ring quilts were sewn during the first half of the 19th century.
Women made this quilt while waiting for husbands to return home
from WWI and WWII. It can be a challenge to fit so many pieces,
so take comfort that this pattern is a most accurate pattern.
Try using a large variety of traditional 30's and 40's reproduction
fabrics.
Size: 100" x 114"
ORG009 - $5.00

farming with a team of horses, neighborhood barn raisings, and
church quilting bees.
