The book tells the story of my maternal grandparents, Reka & Wilford
Clother and my maternal grandparents Vera and Delbert Clothier
and their children, c.1900-1920. It also accounts the hardships
suffered on the plains by settlers and Native Americans during
this period. I have designed the quilts and projects to relate
to these stories and events.

Wilford and Reka Clothier on
their wedding day.
Quilt designs include: "A Perfect
Garden"... inspired by what I consider the perfect union
of souls, the 59 year marriage of Reka and Wilford Clothier.
"Sweet Peas for Gertie" recalls the death of
a young daughter. "Indian Summer" and "A
Dressmakers Quilt" are two simple pieced designs that
produce beautiful results. Other projects include the wonderful
vintage pillow: "Peace Hath Her Victories",
Children's Tepees and Dolls, "Jesus Loves You"
YoYo Picture, Make-Do's and Pin Cushions.
"The People of the Plains" contain full size patterns, color suggestions,
yardage and instructions for all projects.
